New Delhi, Oct 3: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister Arun Shourie backed Yashwant Sinha, holding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive responsible for the economic slowdown. Calling note ban an ‘idiotic jolt’, Arun Shourie said the Goods and Services Tax (GTS) was poorly implemented that added to the woes of common man. The BJP government at the Centre lacks the expertise, he added.

Speaking to a leading news channel, Arun Shourie hit out at PM Modi for the demonetisation of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
