New Delhi, Feb 11: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday praised Siddaramaiah government for a scam-free rule while accused BJP for breaking all “world records” in graft in Karnataka.
Gandhi, who is doing poll campaign in the state, when BJP was in power, there was only scams but for last five years there is no such scams.
He was addressing meetings in Koppal district during his ongoing ‘Janashirvad Yatra’ ahead of assembly polls in the state. Rahul urged people to support the Congress party and Siddaramaiah in the upcoming election.
The BJP government in the state had seen three chief ministers — B S Yeddyurappa, Sadananda Gowda and Jagadish Shettar — in five years from 2008.
The Congress president has started his election campaign with a three-day tour of Karnataka from February 10. The campaign will involve road shows, public meetings, interactions with civil society groups and sessions featuring farmers. He might visit again later next month and also in March.
The Karnataka assembly elections will be held in the first quarter of this year.
