New Delhi, Feb 12: An audio clip of BJP lawmaker allegedly blaming Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for the party s defeat in recent bypolls has gone viral. MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja, who represents Alwar in the state Assembly, also blamed state BJP president Ashok Parnami for the poor performance.

In the audio, Ahuja, who appears to be speaking to one of his supporters, is heard saying that it was the government’s defeat and not the party’s. The BJP lost two parliamentary constituencies and one assembly seat in Rajasthan to the Congress in by-elections held last month. For the ruling party, the defeat ahead of state polls later this year comes as a big worry.

Ahuja was also heard saying that he has requested BJP national president Amit Shah, asking him to replace both Raje and Parnami.

“This was bound to happen. I had predicted that we will be routed in these elections. If Raje and Parnami are not replaced then BJP will suffer miserably in Rajasthan,” Ahuj said in the audio.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan BJP president Ashok Parnami has said that party will take action against the MLA if the audio clip is found to be authentic.

BJP Loss in Rajasthan Bypolls is Big Jolt

The Bharatiya Janata Party suffered a major blow to its aspirations of putting up a good showing once again in Rajasthan in the next assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The party, which heads the state government led by Vasundhara Raje, lost the by-elections to both the Lok Sabha seats in Alwar and Ajmer, and the Mandalgarh assembly seat, to a resurgent Congress. The win has a come as a shot in the arm for the Congress in general, and Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot in particular.
